Youth Service & Capacity Project
Our Youth Service and Capacity Project (YSCP) is a direct service and capacity building initiative that:
-
Provides holistic capacity building and leadership development services to five (5) NYC faith-based and community-based organizations serving out-of-school youth(ages 16-24):
- The Community Shop;
- Opening Doors, Healing Wounds;
- Rahabs House Ministries;
- Success is Mine; and
- United Federation of Evangelical Youth.
Through YSCP, our partnering youth-serving faith-based and community-based organizations become Holistic Ministries, which guide out-of-school youth to become strong, independent, articulate youth holistic servant leaders, who legitimately represent and are accountable to their families and communities.
YSCP aims to reverse the trends of out-of-school youth, who often are engaged in anti-social behavior, including violence, criminal activity, gang activity, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and non-employment. Through their active participation, out-of-school youth will grow to be:
- Effective leaders w/strong moral character,
- Peacemakers,
- Literate (effective communicators),
- Successful in school and/or their job,
- Physically-fit and arts-oriented,
- Engaged in their family life,
- Active in community affairs, and
- Mentors to peers or younger individuals.
